Policy Hackathon: New Tools for Socially Just Urban Regeneration
TRACK: Water + Food

Roll up your sleeves and join in collaborative policy creation to support the social justice and ecological imperatives of urban regeneration. The policy hackathon is intended to explore potential linkages between sustainable design tools and policy with a focus on strengthening equity and affordability outcomes. A policy map will be presented highlighting sustainable strategies that unintentionally work against equity and affordability in urban neighborhoods as the workplan for the session. The equity measures in the Living Community Challenge will be presented and tested as a framework to inform policy and financing tools – so that sustainability and equity can be advanced as mutually supportive goals.
