Living Communities: Reimagining our Rights to the Rights-of-Way
TRACK: Courage to Scale

Creating a resilient future requires a comprehensive reinvention of our communities. This effort is more urgent as cities rapidly grow and nature diminishes. This session will provide an overview of the Living Community Challenge (LCC) and explore solutions with a straightforward purpose: to define the most advanced measure of sustainability in the built environment possible today, and act to diminish the gap between current planning limits and ideal solutions. In a world that can no longer afford single purpose infrastructure, the LCC is calling upon community members and planners to reimagine our rights to the public rights-of-way in pursuit of high performing, biophilic communities. This session will explore ways of enhancing nature and natural elements throughout our public realm to improve the equity and health of our communities.
